Effective weight-loss diet of 5 meals per day

TAIPEI, Taiwan - A doctor has introduced a weight-loss program that consists of five meals a day, local media reported yesterday.

The doctor, Yang Ming-chuan, came up with a "five-five" program, which includes five meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon snacks and mid-night snacks that are eaten two to three hours before bedtime - with the calories of each meal limited to being under five times an individual's weight.

Eating 5 meals per day is a very good strategy if you are looking to loose weight.

In addition to calorie contents, Yang also emphasized the importance of good nutrition, said the Central News Agency (CNA).

As eating little is not only an unhealthy move but also an unsustainable method to shed weight, so Yang decided to come up with a more healthy idea to help people lose weight by avoiding an excessive intake of calories.

Chao Chiang, a nutritionist of Mackay Memorial Hospital, however, expressed concerns about people's ability to calculate how much calories they have consumed although the program seems feasible, said the CNA.

Chao thus suggested that people should consult with nutritionists to create a healthy diet to help themselves lose weight.
