Fantabulous Health Benefits of Royal Jelly

Royal jelly is a creamy substance, produced by worker bees from their salivary glands and fed exclusively to the few larvae destined to become queen bees. These bees grow to twice the size of ordinary worker honey bees and may live for as long as six years, in comparison to the six-week lifespan of the workers.

For these reasons, royal jelly has been hailed as a ‘miracle’ substance that can heal and help a range of human ailments. There is, however no scientific basis for these supplement, as a yellowish liquid or in capsules, and also as an ingredient of skin products.

It contains vitamins (B group, C), minerals (potassium, sodium and iron) and essential amino acids and fatty acids, all in minute amounts.

Health Benefits
In alternative medicine, royal jelly may be used to treat a range of ailments, including:

• Lack of energy
• Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME)
• Arthritis
• Skin complaints
• Failure to thrive in infants
• Arthersoclerosis (hardening of the arteries)
• Anemia
• High Blood Pressure

Many people claim to feel better and to notice improvements after taking the substance, although there is, as yet, no scientific evidence to support these claims.

The only disadvantage is that the cost of royal jelly is high.
