Tips to make love during pregnancy

Making love is part of a couple’s life. For a pregnant woman it also safe to make love with your husband but there are some things you might be aware of.

Sex is so interesting and wonderful way for partners to remain intimate during pregnancy. It is usually safe, as long as there are some guidelines that you should follow.


· It is better for a pregnant woman to be on top position or side-lying as these are more comfortable of doing it.

· Doing deep penetration would be the responsibility and comfort of the mother.

· No foreign objects should be used during sex plays.

· Douching should never be done during pregnancy.

· If you are suffering for pre-term labor, orgasm and intercourse should be avoided until the doctor or midwife has told you it is safe.

· No nipple stimulation.

· Should not do sexual activity if you notice fluid is leaking, has ruptured, or if there is a suspicion that it may be leaking.

· Avoid having sex with the partner who is exposed to HIV virus.

· Use of a condom and a spermicide is recommended if sexual activity cannot be avoided.

· Lastly, you should not do sexual activity unless you are advised to do so by your care provider.
