Healthy Living And Lifesyle

Incorporating exercise into your daily schedule can be a hassle.

College students have busy lives with academics, work, and extracurricular activities. Even though it seems impossible to find time to exercise, there is usually some time every day where you can fit in some type of physical activity. However, yo should exercise frequently to stay fit and reap the benefits of these calorie-burning activities.

Trying to fit some type of calorie-burning exercise into your daily life is not too difficult. Yes, everyone is busy, but it's not hard. Here are a couple of simple tips you can use to keep fit.

According to webmd.com, there are a number of simple things you can engage in to burn off those extra pounds. One tip that most people have heard is that if you are able to use the stairs at work, then by all means you should use them.

The next way to easily burn calories is by walking when driving is not necessary. Keep track of your walking workout by using a pedometer.

By using a pedometer, you can note how many steps you are taking and gradually increase them. There are approximately 2,000 steps in one mile.

Dr. Ajay Matthew, a cardiologist who works in a clinic located in Georgia, listed the advantages to exercising.

“Exercising just causes a greater well-being altogether. You feel better about yourself and tend to have a better outlook on life.

“You are also able to control your weight, reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease, reduce your risk of some cancers, strengthen your bones and muscles, increase your chances of living longer, and even just improve your ability to participate in daily activities.

“Exercise is necessary for being able to be a healthier person, less at risk for being open for sickness or many sicknesses,” Matthew said.

Once you get into the habit of doing physical activity, then you should keep up with it. If you stop exercising, then you will eventually lose your interest in staying active.

According to about.com, you should exercise weekly to stay fit and healthy. The Web site pointed out that there are two types of exercise in which adults can engage: moderate and vigorous aerobic exercise.

Moderate exercise increases your heart and your breathing rate. You may sweat, but you are still likely to be able to keep up a conversation with someone.

This type of moderate exercise should be done for a minimum of 30 minutes a day, five days a week.

Moderate aerobic exercise usually consists of cycling, dancing, easy jogging, brisk walking, or swimming.

Vigorous aerobic activity requires more energy. It dramatically increases your heart rate and you are usually only able to talk in short phrases or fragments.

This type of activity should usually be done for about 20 minutes and at least three days a week. Activities for this category include an intense level of running, swimming, or biking.

Exercise is needed for any person who chooses to live a healthy life. Exercise allows you to have a more positive and confident outlook on life.
