PM Narendra Modi on hot water fast

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been subsisting only on hot water since 25th Sep14, not even lemon juice he was initially reported to be drinking during his fasting days.

Washington: It was only warm water for Prime Minister Narendra Modi who turned out to be the most unusual guest in the history of White House, he walks into the White House for a planned "private dinner" with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, he would have abstained from food for last one week, with 2 more days of fasting to follow in keeping with his annual practice during Navratri. In keeping with their guest's needs, he will only be offered hot water.

A plate in front of the Indian leader remained empty as some of the most powerful men and women in the world seated around the table ate compressed avocados, crisped halibut, saffron Basmati rice and salmon.


Modi only had warm water and asked the rest of the guests not to feel embarrassed and continue with their dinner, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said.
